Newfound Lake is located in Grafton County and is bordered by the towns of Bridgewater NH, Bristol NH, Alexandria NH, and Hebron NH. Newfound Lake is located in the Lakes Region and is the third-largest lake located entirely in New Hampshire.

The lake's water is refreshed twice-over annually by underground springs. The lake is about 2½ miles wide and 6 miles long. Major tributaries include the Fowler River and the Cockermouth River. Its outlet is the Newfound River, flowing into the Pemigewasset River.

Wellington State Park, containing a large public beach, is located on the lake's west shore in the town of Bristol.

Be sure to dine at the Inn on Newfound Lake. The Inn has been welcoming guests since 1840. It has been fully refurbished in a way that maintains a warm atmosphere and old world charm. The Inn on Newfound Lake offers 28 rooms and is a perfect spot to host that destination wedding, holiday party, reunion, retreat or corporate function in the restaurant, extensive gardens or newly renovated barn accommodating up to 250 people.
